About: "Arrivals" is a show that teeters on the edge of experimental work provoked by the experience of liminality and liminal space. It’s the moment of missing your usual stop on the train and stepping into a place of transition: the platform of the unknown. This place feels so familiar, but its not quite your stop. Your daily pattern is broken, and you begin to see yourself as a new person in this unusual place and thus you are unusual too, an experiment. This ambiguous place lacks tradition and gives you a moment to explore before you board the train to your intended destination. We are looking for artists with original work that breaks genre and perhaps even pushes past a singular medium. This is a show about mood, liminal space and shifting perspective. Who do we become in a new place? Can we let go of the past and its visual language? How do we reconcile with the nature of an in between state?
